Before his eyes, a vast and boundless world of light unfolded — a universe made of healing energies and medicinal elements. He realized, in that moment of clarity, that medicine is the universe, and every star, every particle, and every living being shone with deeper meaning.
At that time, the young boy was called Unryong (운룡) — the 胎名 (prenatal name) of the one who would later become Master Insan Kim Il-Hoon (인산 김일훈 선생). Even in childhood, Unryong possessed a mysterious spiritual clarity. He realized that, by focusing his mind, he could see anywhere in the universe — every land, every ocean, every living being on Earth.

He saw how the countless stars of the heavens resonated with every creature and mineral on Earth — each responding to cosmic energy in perfect harmony. Among all lands, one place shone the brightest: the Korean Peninsula. He perceived it as a sacred gathering place of universal medicinal essences — overflowing with healing power. In that moment, Unryong understood why he had been born there.
Until then, he had always felt different from others — distant, even lonely. But now he knew the reason: he was born with a mission — to heal humankind from the suffering of disease and to reveal the hidden medicine is the universe.
With his spiritual sight awakened, Unryong gazed across the Korean Peninsula. In the air, on the land, and in the surrounding seas, he saw countless medicinal particles connected in intricate harmony. The peninsula was a vast pharmacy of nature, a living storehouse of cosmic medicine is the universe .
Every part of nature — fish, plants, animals, and even minerals buried deep underground — carried healing power. There was nothing in creation without medicinal value.
He could even perceive each substance’s effect instantly. The brain of a domestic duck contained a strong antidote for poison. Cucumbers held cooling properties that neutralized inflammation. The venom of snakes and wasps could treat lung diseases. Lizards carried compounds that strengthened blood and vitality.
Dried pollack from the East Sea contained detoxifying elements effective against snakebite or gas poisoning. Seawater itself was rich with infinite medicinal micro-elements capable of curing chronic illness.
Unryong came to understand that each of these medicines was connected to one of the 28 constellations of heaven — that all earthly substances were formed under the influence of the stars.
He realized that the stars were not distant objects — they were active participants in creation. Under their guidance, all things are born, grow, and return to dust. The heavens and the earth were not separate — they were one vast web of life, a great chain of interdependence.
The Cosmic Origins of Medicine
Creatures with toxins — such as snakes and centipedes — were born from the fiery energy of Mars. Their antidotes, like pollack, duck, and cucumber, were born from the watery stars of Mercury, resonating with the gentle feminine energy of healing.
When Unryong observed the blue-green aura of Jupiter, he could identify trees touched by its energy — such as the Burl Tree (산청목). Resembling the catalpa but smaller and more radiant, it absorbed toxins from the human body and served as a powerful remedy for liver disease.
The lacquer tree (옻나무), infused with both celestial and Jupiterian energy, was a miraculous medicine for difficult diseases. Its poison itself became healing — the principle of “using poison to conquer poison.” Even after thousands of years, its pigment never decayed, symbolizing eternal preservation and life.
From this, Unryong understood: every element in existence contains medicine.“medicine is the universe”
People do not die because there is no cure — they die because they do not know the cure.
Medicine is the Universe, and the Universe is Medicine.
Medicinal energy extended far beyond the Earth — it filled the entire cosmos. Through his spiritual vision, Unryong saw the universe as a vast ocean of healing particles. Every color, every molecule, every wave of light held medicinal essence.
If humankind could understand and apply these universal laws, no illness would remain uncured. Disease arises within the same natural laws that create the universe — and thus must also be healed through those same laws.
Human beings, as part of nature, age and die when their inner pigments — their life energies — are depleted. But if those pigments could be replenished, humanity could live long, free from decay and disease.
At only seven years old, Unryong realized the great principle of life and death — the cosmic law of growth and dissolution. He vowed to dedicate his life to revealing the universe’s healing principles to humankind.
He knew that he was born on the Korean Peninsula not by chance, but because it was the place most filled with the universe’s medicinal energy. Above its skies floated countless healing molecules — from the spiritual essence of wild ginseng to countless other invisible medicines within its mountains and seas.
Breathing in this invisible medicinal air, Unryong looked up to the blue sky — filled with the living molecules of cosmic medicine — and felt his heart overflow with awe and purpose.
Korea: The Land of Divine Medicine
Through the rainbow’s colors, Unryong awakened to the profound truth: the laws of medicine and the laws of the universe are one and the same. From that moment on, he walked his path alone — carrying the burden of cosmic knowledge in silence, understood by no one, yet guided by the mission he was born to fulfill.
